At Forth Wall Painting, 95% of our projects are apartments in NYC, Brooklyn, and some surrounding areas. That could include anything from a living room, a bathroom, or an entire 3 or 4 room apartment with ceiling, walls, and trim.

Our specialty is working with the apartment tenant/owner to make the experience as non-disruptive as possible. New York living has space limitations, and we know that and work with you! We also do many empty apartments that owners are renting out or selling and want to spiff up before doing so.

Fourth Wall Painting also does exterior work (when the weather cooperates!) For example, iron doors/gates/window guards/tree guards/and fences.

We deal with cracking, flaking, and rust. Everything old gets newish again! Also, building facades now and again, decks/terraces, etc... We even worked on a museum exterior once...

How do I prepare my apartment for a new coat of paint?

We will handle this for you. Preparation is the most important step, like building the foundation of a house. Dirt, paint flakes and other sediment need to be removed, and all cracks and gaps must be filled.
What paint colors should I choose?

Believe it or not, the color of your home can affect market value. We will show you a variety of colors and help you make your decision. We recommend considering which colors would complement your neighborhood. The most popular apartment colors are white, beige, and grey.

DRYWALL/Plaster REPAIR

Sheetrock and plaster can really take a beating from water damage, age, or wear and tear. Fourth Wall Painting can handle any of it.

We can remove flaking, cracking, seam splitting, staining, etc., and make it acceptable again. We also have skim coating capabilities if you desire a really smooooth wall! Give us a holler for a FREE estimate.

What is the difference between sheetrock and drywall?

They are actually the same. Sheetrock is a brand name drywall product.
Should I repair or replace my damaged drywall?

This depends on how badly it is damaged. If the damage is widespread it should be replaced, especially when it comes to water. Your best option is to seek the guidance of a professional.
How big of a hole can you patch?

The short answer is most any size but holes larger than 6-8 inches need to be patched with a rigid material covering the opening. We can help with this.
